Motu 828mkII spdif and ableton
First off, I'm new here so Hello.
Now to the good stuff.
I'm running an 828mkII with ableton live 6... for some reason when I'm using the ASIO driver for the 828 I don't see the spdif out in the output config... nor do I see mic/guitar on the input. Just a bunch of analog inputs/outputs.
If I select MME/DirectX as my driver for the 828 I now see these inputs, but the latency is horrible.
Anyone run into this and know of a solution.
I've reinstalled the drivers a few times and the same problem exists.
Using a Compaq R3000 laptop (p4 1gigmem) and the 828 via firewire. In other apps the inputs/outputs show up fine.
Thanks

Hi man
First: Do you have the S/PDIF input available with ASIO?
Second: Motu firewire interfaces, work properly with Texas intstruments or Lucent firewire chipsets on pcs/laptops with XP as O.S.
Try also the ASIO 4 all driver

That's the ticket!theguru_ wrote:Hey!
ur audios last outputs are for optical output. Ie if u have 10 outputs avaitable u choose 9and10 to optical outputs. Try this one. Atleast it worked for me when i was in studio last week. i have m-audio fw 1814.
I discovered this messing around last night. It's interesting that ableton doesn't label the inputs the way they should show up.
In cubase I see spdif etc using the same asio drivers.
My laptop firewire works but seems to be buggy with ableton for some reason, it's solid in cubase though.
Time to search for the xp sp2+firewire threads.
Thanks for the replies.
