Ableton Live 5 for sale?

Post by fongaboo » Fri Feb 23, 2007 2:56 am

I'm looking for a copy of Live 5.x for an older Pentium III laptop that I want to use soley for MIDI sequencing. I get the impression that 6.x is loaded with new stuff that would make my laptop under the mark.

Any leads on where I could buy a copy? Nothing on eBay right now..

Look for the bundle with the M-Audio Trigger Finger... someone had it for a little over $300 recently. That's quite a bit less that Live 6 by itself, and if you don't need the Trigger Finger, you can undoubtedly sell it and make back a good chunk of your investment (the TF new by itself streets for $200).

If you just buy the normal Trigger Finger then yes, it just comes with Live Lite. However, they also sell a bundle with the full version of Live 5.

Oh I was getting mixed up with the Mbox bundle which only came with lite. I found a dealer actually still selling the TF for $320 and grabbed it.

Know anyone who wants to buy a Trigger Finger? :P

by the way, I run live 6 on a pIII 1.2GHz laptop. Works fine.
It isn´t any slower than live 5 (except when starting up). And you have racks and more effects.
I´d go for 6 in your case.
