AKAI MPD16

I recently purchased an AKAI MPD16 pad control unit to record drum sequenses using Ableton Version 5.2.2 and Line 6 Tone Port UX2. Could someone walk me through the step by step install and configuration? I've attempted it a few times and cannot get Ableton to recognize the MPD16.

I was told it was really easy to configure. Help???!!!

i bought the akai mpd 16 and just connected the usd lead to my pc it it worked fine, there is no need to use a midi cable.
does the midi signal indicater light when you hit the pads?
i didnt have to install any of the software that came with it

I had no problems installing it either.

tip: play along with a song as you step through drumsets in impulse. Great fun!

If you're on a mac, you need to go to the Akai Pro website and download the editor for OSX, then set it up in your preferences in live as a controller, you can run live and the editor in the backgound, create a template for Impulse. I have my bank B set up to play two impusles so all 16 pads play different drum sounds, right now I'm putting together an Instrument Rack together so the pads play different Operators as my drum sounds, lots of possibilities.
