Anyone catch Monolake in NYC yesterday?

Post by Rx » Mon Aug 12, 2002 8:28 pm

The fockers at summerstage misinformed me that ALL dj sets were between the acoustic acts, which was not the case yesterday so I missed Monolake and sat through some mediocre jazz instead.

Just curious to see if anyone did actually catch the show.

now i am on my way to Joes Pub ( 14th street ) for another performance. regarding summerstage : the jazz group who played after me was boring but i did enjoy sonic youth....

I bet you enjoyed it! Do you have any other performances aside from Joe's Pub tonight?

:(

i am REALLY bummed that i missed it. . . had been planning on it for weeks and weeks . . . we got there at 3:15 and the jazz quartet were already playing . . . since they said that the show started at 3, i figured we had time to spare . . . so, monolake, when exactly did you go on?? while they were seating people?

and damn, had i known you were playing at joe's pub (or had i read your post earlier), i'da hauled my butt out to check it out! why didn't ya tell us earlier? :D

are you playing anywhere else in the city this week?

and cut the jazz cats some slack, guys . . . that was jack de johnette on drums, man . . . the guy's played with everybody -- even with miles on bitches brew. . . maybe it just sounded better where i was . . . on a bench about 300 meters outside the amphitheatre!

cheers
