Hi - sorry to come in so late on this one. Yeah, I have the Psicraft editor. It really is an incredibly well designed editor and could be a joy to use. Unfortunately there were just a few omissions for me so I decided to drop it for a while. I can't actually remember what all my issues were but from memory the main killers were:

1. In VST mode (my main reason for buying it) the sequencer clock does not sync with Ableton. Obviously the Evolver sequencer is almost as important as say, a tb303's sequencer. It certainly accounts for a considerable amount of the Evolver's appeal.
2. Sound Recall does not work. I wanted to have the plugin in a track and not have to worry about saving patches, just like other VSTs.

Anyway, 6 months since I dropped it I keep meaning to go back and see how things are progressing. If the two above have been resolved then I would say: if you have a Evo desktop then you MUST get this editor. Otherwise, its usefulness will vary depending on how your work..

Thanks so at least I know Iwas lucky it didnt work with the Vysor. Gods are taking good care of me, meanwhile I am getting impression that the psychocraft are some kind psycho religious sect, spamming and chasing me all over internet, my only crime - not buying their software. What is next sending some goons to beat me ?
Dave Smith editor does the job for me rather well, the other one seem to me like Novation SL- great idea but unfinished and buggy - such products are of not much use to me, though might be OK for some.
One or the other, it is worth having editor if you want to use Evolver more intensly, specially the desktop ( to compensate for numerical display)
Pychocraft + your fanboys please kindly leave me alone- I am no more interested in your products.

Nowhere on the vysen or whatever it's called, site mentions anything like "endorsed by Dave Smith" or anything like that. On top of that, they are planning on doing editors like this for a bunch of the Roland stuff that came out over the course of the last few years. I hardly imagine Roland giving the ok on this...

I'm assuming you work for this company or maybe it is your company. I'd suggest a more cognitive approach and making this generally clearer to understand on the actual website, not in a forum...

Editors and librarians have been around for MIDI instruments since the 80s. AFAIK, creating a front-end editor based on published specs {usually found near the end of a MIDI device's manual} requires no special agreement with the manufacturer; indeed, development of those tools was encouraged.

It's "Vyzor". Five easy letters. Of course, if one can't get that little detail right, why should we expect informed assertions from you, or even basic reading comprehension?

My question is, why on earth will people care to spell Vyzor right when their editor dosen't even work correctly! I mean in a world of loads of software not supporting Universal Binaries yet on people's $1500 machines (thankfully not mine), I really don't think many people have time to waste on buggy editors. What would be really cool is, if I could map my uc33e via the editor to my evolver; and have all those knobs to work the evolver as well. Dream or possibility?

You can already set up your UC33 to control the Evolver without the editor. Almost all Evolver parameters respond to MIDI CCs. You just need to set up a sensible template. I've been meaning to set up my BCR for that but other things has gotten in the way.

This is a good selection to be certain, but it is not most of them. Also, original desktop Evolvers that have not been upgraded with the V3 firmware chip do not respond to any CCs natively, which makes editor CC mapping essential for owners of these Evolvers.

I just ordered my MEK and of course I spent some time googling around for "merchandise" as well.
I use a green microwave together with the sound tower editor and I have to say it works quite well.
But its just so...so..geeky and boring design wise.
I will defintly go for the PsiCraft one just because I think they feel like I do for my gear...I want it as nice as possible because I spend a lot of time on it.
But of course...everybody would find an evaluation version very useful to test it before you waste that insane amount of money

And ricky...looks like you still like to blame other people instead of beeing a little bit more relaxed and trust in karma...Seems like the Yoga doesnt help that much in the end
