Live 4 and latency? Ableton please answer!!!
just curious, since live will add vst/au instruments, along with all the plugs that can be used. ofcourse the new sampler, drum machine..and so forth... will latency be compensated? a simple yes or no will do....otherwise it seems that it could be a disaster for true live performance..

Ableton Live will not have latency compensation in version 4.
Give us a break guys. We have given you a lot of new shit in Ableton 3 and 4 within one year. So give it a rest. We will add ADC when we can bother our selves he he he
But seriously one thing at a time guys. Ableton doesnt have ADC. If it did it would be advertised within the first paragraph of Live 4 announcement.
I understand it is a much needed implementation that definitely makes a huge difference to the GEL of a mix....quite amazing actually when one turns it on or off in a Cubase SX song.
The ableton guys will get around to this. But lets give them a chance to release 4 and maybe even take a holiday for giving us the best DAW available....even if it doesnt have ADC

I hope everyone agrees that latency compensation is needed for some plugins which just need extensive processing. Plugins like SIR (free impulse reverb), and those lovely iZotope plugins need it.
I can understand that it might take some serious redesign. Since Live is becomming more like a DAW it might be a very useful consideration for Ableton.
Now I've Nuendo 2.2 stable running on my machines I can confirm that working with this compesation is really fantastic.
