I'd like some help understanding routing

Post by Layla Nahar » Sat Mar 03, 2007 4:41 am

Hello

I've got an M Audio Transit, & I want to record my electric guitar. I have some very basic questions.

1) On the Input Config item in the preferences audio tab, you can chose
"1(mono) & 2 (stereo)" and "1/2 stereo".
[Edit - strange but true - I looked at these settings today and it 1(mono) & 2 (stereo)" it says 1(mono) & 2 (mono)" - which made things a lot clearer... I think I've got most of my question answered]

What are these? what differs one from the other?

2) Why don't I have any control over which channel (L or R) the guitar (via the Transit) comes into the track?

3) How do I get a track where the audio is coming from the transit to be mono? (or stereo, if possible ...)

thanks very much.

on the input when u play the gutiar, you prolly notice the leveel goin up and down on one side of the channel (L or R) whichever is the one moving (L or R) change the input to receive that side of the channel (L or R ) only.

i hope this helps.

Thanks for responding.

I played around with the preferences & got a better understanding of things.
