Cueing Problem?

Post by jez3122 » Mon Feb 12, 2007 9:50 pm

Hi Lads, i don't want to appear stupid but i just can't get this cueing thing figured out.
i've set it up as it says in the manual enableing different outs for both the master and the cueing, but i cant seem to seperate the 2 signals through my interface i just hear both signals through my speakers and through the headphones that are plugged into the interface.
i've checked the specs on my interface and it has 7 stereo outs, please help me b4 i pull my hair out.

It's really going to depend on the interface you're using.

For instance on my old Aardvark card, there is a "patch bay" in the Aardvark drivers which allows you to route the virtual ports to the physical ones. So it would depend on how I connected the patch bay and where I plugged in the monitors and headphones into the sound card.

So you should let us know what soundcard you're using, for starters

I have that card in of my DAWs. The Audigy won't let you separate the headphones from the mains. The headphone jack IS the main. Perhaps you could try and route your main to a different set of outs and hook your speakers to that. Never tried it, I only use that DAW for recording. But you will not be able use the headphone jack on the I/O box for cueing and still use the main speaker out, trust me.

I would, to be honest. If you can afford it, I would suggest the M-Audio FireWire 410. It's a damn nice interface for the price, and it's one of the cheaper ones out there that will give you the line outs you need if you've been using all the outs on the Audigy.
Don't tell me how to internet...
