ableton books

Post by aburgener » Fri Mar 02, 2007 7:23 pm

If this has been discussed in another thread - feel free to kick my ass over there and I'll read it:

I was thinking about buying a book on Live 6 & was wondering if anyone had suggestions or recommendations since there are quite a few out there. I'd definitely like something that is aimed at beginner/intermediate audiences with some tutorials and examples and stuff.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

if you can go through all the tips in the tips n tricks sticky you'll know more about Live than most people.

the stuff in that thread is great, no doubt... i was wanting something that was maybe a bit more linear - something that starts with the very basics and then gets more advanced. plus i'd like to have the book open in front of me while i was working...

i might check around amazon and read some reviews - the book store at the mall here didn't have shit as far as i could tell...

those 'power' series of books are generally good imo - i think there is one for live 6 coming out pretty soon.

edit: actually its out now

I own and read Live 6 Power! already. You can get it here: http://www.amazon.com/Ableton-Live-Powe ... 817&sr=8-1
I highly recommend this book, very well written, I've bought the Thompson books for Pro Tools and Reason as well, I'm a reader. They're great.

I own and read Live 6 Power from John von Seggern to.
Excellent book.

There is just one thing: On page 11 there is a download package mentioned. "To get you going as quick as possible"

But this download package does not exist.

anyone with the book who can answer TeachONEs question above?

I would also like to know if there's something in it about mastering

and when I looked for the book here in Sweden.. it says the author is SIMON CANN.
Is this the same book?
it has the same ISBN numbers.

Book

Hi,

here is a book.

http://www.amazon.com/Ableton-Live-6-Ti ... 1906005028

But honestly, Ableton Manual explains every thing better than any book.
But ASK video Tutorial makes you aware of everything about Ableton.

https://askvideo.com/product_info.php?c ... ucts_id=33

Best of luck.

The ASKvideo video was not enough for me...
