I'm new to this whole thing so please bare with me...
I just got a padKontrol and I'm currently running Live 6. I can't seem to figure out how to properly set it up (padkontrol that is). There doesn't seem to be any native support for it, so I'm basically just using trial and error to see what works.
Any suggestions on how to utilize the padKontrol for Live?
Do I need to set up different scenes?
Right now I have it set up in such a way that I can only control synths but not drums. The x/y pad, flam, roll, and other features don't seem to work either.

If you want to use the padKontrol to trigger drums in Impulse, you need to set the pads to trigger C3 through C4 in Live.
Just a note though: I'm not sure if this is a problem with my PK, or Live, but I actually need to set the pads an octave higher to trigger Live. So, if you press SETTING on your padKontrol, then the pad you wish to trigger the kick for instance, the LED will show you what note that pad is currently set to. If you need to change it, turn the setting wheel until the correct note is displayed. In my case C4 (really meaning C3 in Live - if that makes *any* sense at all).
From there, each drum in Impulse is one whole note up: D4, E4, F4.. etc. Make sure you save the scene on your PK and that's it!
Edit: the ROLL/FLAM functions should work once you set up the PK as above. All they are really doing is repeating your hits in different ways.

Thanks.
One more thing (surprise surprise)...
I tried to manually map the padkontrol to trigger different functions in session mode. Basically I pressed the "midi" button in the control bar, clicked on the funciton I wanted to trigger, then pressed the button on the padkontrol. i tried to set individual buttons to trigger clips, but when i pressed the buttons on padkontrol, they weren't triggering the right clips.
each button on the pad kontrol would have to be assigned to each clip to trigger it right?
i just wish there was some default setup for session mode i could work with and tweak rather than doing it from scratch.

By default, the padkontrol for some reason is not on for remote use. You have to go into your Live settings and just turn it on. I found that weird though. Hopefully you've figured it out by now though. Anyone having luck with the librarian software? I'm not.
