Audiofire 8 - please help!

Post by brightonalex » Tue Mar 06, 2007 7:45 pm

Hi,
I can't get any sound on ABleton from audio devices attached to Audiofire 8.

I can hear sound from the headphones, by selecting Audiofire 8 Analog 1-DX for the output in my Audio preferences. All good.

Which input on the Audiofire 8 do I connect my synth to? What do I select for my Audio Input Device?
I have about 10 Audiofire options for my input device, and none of them are allowing me to hear my audio. I have remembered to arm the track and change the monitor to in. Thank you!!

as you mentioned dx i suppose you are on pc

you should be using the asio drivers instead of the dx,wdm, etc..., it is supposed to be on that list
also you should use the asio for in and out devices

then if you still don´t hear sound from the audio in,
check in audiofire console,
it might be muted over there...
although i don´t really know if the console only controls the soundcard internal audio routing (for direct monitoring...) or if it affects also what goes thru the audio ins...

Still nothing.
Audio out from my synth is connected to Channel 1 insert on Audiofire.
Audio preferences on Live:
Driver type:ASIO
Audio Device: Audiofire

In my audio track:
Audio from: Ext 1

Monitor set to "in".

WHat could be the problem?

you should be connecting your synth to line in 1 instead of insert 1, i think that is supposed to be for an external effect...

Still no luck.
:(

Could anyone that is feeding Audio into their Audiofire 8 tell me how it should look in my Audiotrack?

It is configured to Audiofire.
Audio from is:

Ext in
What should the number underneath be?

HELP!!

I've fixed the problem.
I'm so ashamed of the reason it didn't work I don't even want to admit it.

brightonalex -

no worries -- the audiofire console isn't the easiest thing to figure out. if I had a nickel for every time its confused the hell out of me, i'd have, like, at *least* $1. maybe a $1.50.

Yeah, but you would normally remember to plug the correct audio cable into the back, ie the one that is connected to your synth at the other end!! 8O
