My song won this month @ Universal Audio's Playback section!

Post by Shane 54 » Tue Mar 06, 2007 11:51 pm

I'm happy as a hippo!!!

On the UA site they have a section called "Playback".
Users can send in their tracks, and every month one song gets picked, and "played back" (ie. available for listening) on the webzine for a whole month.
When I first heard about this section I knew I should send in "Someone Like You", the track I did with UK-based singer / songwriter Tiff Lacey. With my production partner beat.by.bit we used our 3 UAD-1 cards extensively, without those the mix wouldn't sound half as good as does now. (We had a previous version without the plugins, so I know what I'm talking about)

If anyone's interested, how does the song sounds feel free to have a listen here:

The track was almost entirely made in Ableton Live, although Sony Vegas was used for specific, you-can't-do-it-in-any-other-software-kind of audio editing.

Damn, I'm not sure I can tell you what this thing means to me, but I hope this is the place to let it out erm... loud.

Cheers

Although, I am not too sure why you are so excited about being on UA's website, I think your track is great! Nice production, and beautiful voice. Great job!

Well, I'm excited because I like UA's stuff alot, and they don't include too much dance music I guess.

I don't think it makes me special or anything, but sure is a great feeling to be there. Honestly, I'd be just as excited if Ableton would include any of my tracks on their site.

Cheers
