Procedure for loading a new verison of Live

I noticed that each new version installs into a new directory eg \6.0.3 then \6.0.5. This screws up my shortcuts. Then I un-install the old version (too save on disk space) and then all my .ALS files associations are gone.

What's the recommended procedure to install a new version of Live?

My recommendation would be to keep the old versions, at least for a while - until you know for sure that they are working properly. Certainly I'd keep the .zip files of them somewhere, maybe a back up HD?

Don't uninstall the old versions. Maybe that's causing your file association problem. Just delete the folders from /Program Files/Ableton
