individual drum lovin' and back again...please help

Post by weese » Fri Mar 09, 2007 2:46 am

this is probably incredibly simple..k right now i have a midi track with an impulse thats got my kick, snare and hats. i want to be able to eq,compress and all that junk each individually...so i have to make a separate track for each (kick track, snare track, etc).but then i want to add a beat repeat to the percussion as a whole.how do i go about doing that?is there a way to make an extra track that contains the beat repeat and just send all the percussion tracks to that?any help is appreciated.

sends won't separate the sounds. set up a bunch of impulses in a rack and mute/clear the sounds you don't want from each chain of the rack. then, after you're done with effects on each chain throw a beatrepeat or whatever across the lot... otherwise you have to setup tracks for each sound like you say and then resample the finished product.

well, instead you could just route the three channels into another one and put the beatreatpeatpeatpeattttt into this channel. But a rack might be more handy than five tracks

if you set up new audio channels for each impulse sound , set the sound in to the impulse channel, you will see you can access the individual parts of the impulse kit, ie kick, snare etc, then put the effects on the audio channel
