Warp Markers and shifting tempo

Post by ThaCos » Wed Aug 14, 2002 5:12 pm

:?:
I've started on live about two weeks ago. I've been working on my first Mix CD mostly with House tracks for the obvious reason, 4 on the Floor is about the easiest thing to find the beat to. I've found that nailing down the first beat of every eighth bar works best to to sync up the preceeding markers. Most of the times i do this i get a different tempo at each increment. This is highly irregular since these are Electronic tracks and the beats should be pretty solid. Has anyone come across this? Should I worry or is this pretty normal? Moreover, I find i have to sync two tracks up visually does anyone know of another way of doing this more akin to analog dj'ing?

thanks

hey cos:

i wrote a tutorial for ableton a couple months ago on "analog-style" djing with the software. it's under the tutorial section and may be worth a look...

ive spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make an extremely sophisticated piece of digital artistry act like a century-old mechanical device :D
