Novation X-Station and Macbook...a good combo or no?

Post by shtreimel » Sun Jan 07, 2007 1:52 pm

Purchasing a macbook and trying to decide if I should keep my novation x-station.

I've used my novation x-station w/ an HP laptop and had problems with the audio out of the x-station (when using as a sound card for listening to audio off the net...actually, I'd get really horrible static whenever my wireless connection was on). Anybody have any troubles with their macbook/macbook pro 'puters and a novation x-station? Thanks.

Nope, no problems with wireless, the thing actually sounds pretty good. My Only gripes with the X-Station are that it doesn't use their Automap technology, and you cannot use the onboard synth and monitor the two mic pres at the same time.

x station is nice, but you might want to check out the novation xiosynth, it's an inspiring little piece, if you have another soundcard i might go for that instead.
Mac, Mpc, and a Microphone

Thanks for the Slicer Abe.

I just got my X Station today, a found a few problems

1: you can't use it as a midi controller and use the built in synth! (the main reason i wanted it)

2: High latency problems make using a mic routed through live unusable (to much delay) but this problem seems intermittent , so it could be a driver isue?

It looked really good on paper!

I'll post again if i make any progress...
