Motu Ultralite Audio INput device problem

Post by Sisao » Fri Mar 09, 2007 4:59 pm

Hi,

I´m sorry if this shouldn´t be posted a a Bug or problem but really i don´t know how to work it out....and need some help!!

I have Ultralite assigned on my live´s preference as audio input/output device. No problem at all with the output option....but i´m trying to record a mix on Live 6 from a Minidisc player and although i can see signal on Ultralite´s backlit LCD and even listen to it, on the audio track on live in does not get any signal and of course there´s not any peak leve so i can´t record my set.......

Could anyone please help on this matter......i have checked some of the messages posted and couldn´t find anything similar to my problem.

Thanks a lot for your help!

well, i don't know how it goes on the ultralight, but on the 828 there is just a strange issue of numbering for the inputs.

In otherwords, try setting up the inputs again, but try the next two numbers for inputs, like 3 + 4 instead of 1+ 2.

Yes!!....You are right with that.....now is "working". But the signal on the audio track seems to be low......the wave is very thin!......not sure it might be just the way the set was recorded.

Thanks a lot anyway!.

I don't have my utralite in front of me right now but you can check if the internal in/output levels are changed to a level that causes the low output..
The ultralite has an internal mixer..
If you're not sure you also can do a 'restore to factory defaults' somewhere in the settings menu..

But maybe better try a test recording with your internal soundcard first to see what the original level is..
