first crash ever in 2 years of use, what's up?

Post by paolo topaz » Sat Mar 10, 2007 9:03 am

I had my crash ever when djing with Live yesterday, I wasn't playing in a club I was just trying out some loops, the cpu was only at 15% and then I loaded in a MP3 that have been warped and decoded and it just locked up and bang! shutdown and then the usual do you want to send a bug report to Apple message.

I was down to 10% battery but I don't know if that contributes.

My question to all Live djs, how can I make my rig as stable as possible?

the set up is

Powerbook G4 1.33 1.25GB ran 60Gb hd with 13 gb free(bought April 2005)
Trigger finger
Evolution uc33
M-Audio audiophile sound card
Ableton Live 5.2.1 for djing(use 6.0.3 on G5 for production)

at the time of the crash I only had my headphones connected as I was just warping some tracks.

As my powerbook is nearly two year old is time for a re install/defrag?

any tips would be great.

cheers

Anyways, what effects you have running at the time?

i just use a low pass and high pass filter over four channels and three return tracks with suppatrigga, simple delat and a ping pong delay. I have Compressor 2 set as a limiter on the master
