live will not set up?

hello all !!!
I click on the icon on the desk top to set up ...it goes thru the checks and then gets to VST's and shuts down . I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times but the same thing happens . It is a legit copy ... anyone any idea what is happening and what can / should i do about it ?

Its probably a corrupted VST.

Try temporarily removing all of your VSTs and see if it solves the problem. If it does, add a few at a time until you find the culprit.

You might be able to see during Live's boot-up phase which one it's getting up to by watching the splash screen.

it turned out to be an installation of sonar 6 ...... ( i uninstalled sonar and live sets up fine !!) why would that be ... are there recognised compatibility issues betwwen live and sonar ?
