live lite doesn't work as rewire slave in cubase?!

i try to use live lite 6 as rewire slave in cubase 4 ... and it doesn't work.

according to the tutorial on ableton.com i start cubase, but when i choose 'ableton live rewire', it says that live can't be used and that i shall close live and try to open it again ...

i had a similar problem with reason using as slave in cubase first, but since re-installing cubase it works fine. so i re-installed cubase now again, but that didn't help.

as rewire master for reason live works perfect ... what do i have to do to solve the problem with cubase?

or is there no rewire slave function in live lite?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you need to open Live as a standalone app before you can use it as a ReWire client. I can't find the document, so it could be a figment of my imagination, but it is worth a try.

Isn't that one of the (many) limitations of Live Lite?

I'm not sure. I thought it could run as a ReWire client; however, since I have owned the full version of Live since version 3, I have never used the Lite version (although I have like 6 copies of it).

Most Live lite editons have the Rewire feature. Which one do you have? Also, did you read our Rewire tutorial, here:
