Maybe some of it, but I admit this is where the christian fundamentalist beat out atheists. Vocal samples of fundamentalists make such good little phrases to add to hardcore techno and industrial tracks that Dawkins could never compare.RhythmSickness wrote:An I know you could use the warp tracks trick on his audio book, but would you really want to?
Question? does he read from his own book on the audio book? if he does, it might be worth it for an extremist line or two.

Answer. I don't actually know. Probably better ripping the program from youtube and sampling that.Machinesworking wrote: Question? does he read from his own book on the audio book? if he does, it might be worth it for an extremist line or two.
Fundamentalists and the sampling thereof. Indeed totally agree, someone ranting on about how their god is the one true god etc, etc, makes for remarkably good sampling. Especially when you start chopping words like breaks to replace the word god a la thephatconducter. Plus is very rare you find atheists with megaphones generally going on about anything in a expressive manner.

To be totally honest, I'm just a little baffled as to why there's an 85 page thread on the ableton forum, on religion.
You know, ableton, the software music creation company, that make live. Doesn't seem to flag anything up to me personally that would warrant 85 pages, or seem to be, you know a suitable place to go on about it.
Shame really when the tips and tricks sticky page itself only runs to about 10 pages or so.
Which just seems to me like a kind of inversion of interests.
just my 2c

people who use LIVE have other stuff they want to talk about - they like talking to each other about it
the program just works - it works fine - if it doesn't someone says something
there're probably more useful tips on this forum then any other music forum out there

if you want strict ableton discussion head over to abletondj.com
what makes this place so unique is the ability it has to moderate itself, discuss touchy subjects all the while people who participate are still making jams, putting out tracks and performing on big scales
I have some beats up on http://www.soundclick.com/djadonis206
a couple tracks coming out - be my friend http://www.myspace.com/parker422 or friend the label http://www.myspace.comviamusique and I think I have a couple things out on http://www.myspace.com/takemoremusicrecords
but I in honesty prefer to watch judge mathis, talk shit on the boards and stress over school work

Takes any perfectly normal sentence and mashes it into utter shite that only the insane can believe and listen too.
It's very popular, but it's not free. You have to pay with your life and your freedom of thought.

I think I'll stick with the latter.

Except disco.
Most religious music is really really bad. Most of it is written and listened to for the purpose of kissing god's ass, the musicality comes second.
There are some great religious bands, Matisyahu is quite good, Bob Marley (also has roots in judaism), Striper, not so good. Most religious music sucks and I don't mean Diddy giving a shout out to god.
