Random Audio Latency

Post by Jakks » Mon Mar 12, 2007 1:57 am

I am an amateur song writer and I recently got some extra cash and decided to get Ableton. I am a huge lover of technology, but I usually can't afford the things that make up a nice system. When I installed Ableton it ran perfectly. For the past 2 weeks I've used a nice 5.1 Creative soundblaster card to record in and go out, yet I've had no audio latency problems. Then, suddenly, I had inspiration, went to Ableton to try and get it down and I suddenly have incredible audio latency. Out of nowhere!

I would try and do the normal latency trouble shooting, but I'm absolutely confounded as to why I had next to none before and now it takes over half a second for the audio within ableton to register when I strike a key on my keyboard.

If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it a lot.

Thanks,
Jakks
