good synth for noise effects

Post by Daim » Mon Mar 12, 2007 6:21 pm

Can anyone recommend a got synth for those long pitched noise effects..

( yes , i know almost every synth can do this and i know that it can simply be done with some white noise and automated filters and so on... )

but i'm asking for ur favourite plugin for doing this kind of effects.. i noticed many don't support to sync the envelope automations to host tempo, so those ain't the best solution..

I use another tecnique for this kind of effects that could interest you.

Load a long white noise sound as a clip in live, 1 bar long for example. Then start creating volume envelopes for making longer and shorter noises, or inverse volume envelopes. You can add filters and bitcrushers for more fun.

Try it, you will like it I think

yes actually i'm doing it the same way at the moment.. i'm sampling white noise from microtonic, loop it and apply filters and fx..

just thought there's some ultra solution (synth) for all kinds of noise effects.. :)

shit, I had this great vst synth back in the day - it was just three banks of 8 oscillators, all modulating each other - it was awesome for these kinds of things! grr. it was called something like "weird noise maker" or something like that.

Oh, and there is the SIAC (synth in a case) ensemble for reaktor, which is also awesome for these things.

boom! that's the one! Awesome. Everyone should have this one if they don't have modular apps. Definitely.

Another free synth where you get a lot of classical effects is Linplug Free Alpha:
