Can't open Live 5.2.2 files in Live 6.0.5

Post by Mr. Anxiety » Sun Mar 11, 2007 8:15 pm

Is Live 6 NOT backwards compatible? I don't see any mention of this.

Is thee a way to open 5.2.2 files in Live 6?

Help!!

Thanks,

Mr. A.

Live 5 files should open in 6..

could you be more specific on why they don't open in 6?

I've opened Live 3.0.x files in Live 6.0.5. No problems. You need to explain more what is happening. Note also that if you have plugins no more supported (let's say PPC VSTs under Intel MacOSX), then such projects won't play. Another reason to flatten and make audio tracks from MIDI tracks for long term project restorations.

Sorry- more detail.

I actually need forward compatibility. My version of Live 6.0.5 is not opening everytime in Nuendo 3. Because of this, I want to work in Live 5.2.2 for stability, I'm in a film project now. I can't open the files created in 6 in Live 5.2.2.

I'm getting a rewire host error every other time in 6. I thought it might be a confilct with EZDrummer's rewire intalls, so I deleted them to see.

Thanks,

Mr. A.

Yes. You could always dump each track as a separate audio file when rendering, and import them back in this way. Anyway, just switch to 6.0.x, easier that way. --Kent

Live 6.0.5 is not solid running in Nuendo 3 via rewire. It sometimes opens, sometimes not. Once it opens, it sometimes does not open my file. That is why I'm asking about Forward Compatibility!

I need to be solid right now on a project. I'm wondering about any rewire confilcts when installing apps that also use rewire, like EZDrummer. Any thoughts?
