Syncing Tempo from Remote SL to Ableton - won't work?

Post by m.nash » Thu Mar 15, 2007 5:46 pm

Hey there, I was wondering how to sync the the midi clock in the remote SL to control Ableton.

I've been playing with the settings and can't seem to get it to work.

Any help is much appreciated.

If you send MIDI Clock to one of the USB ports and check that Live has Sync In set to On for that port, you should be OK (works for me).

But it only seems to be capable of 1 BPM increments, and I want finer granularity. So I actually used an encoder set to 14-bit to control the Tempo instead.

Thanks for the direction.

I've got it set to send to Ua (or Port 1) for both 'midi clock to' and 'bpmport' and live is detecting the message. The only thing is when I enable the EXT sync mode it still doesn't allow control over the bpm or tap tempo.

extremely frustrating. any ideas,

and thanks a ton!

oi oi oi, i was expecting it to control the tempo code at the top, but i see it is independent. now the issue is when hit play on scenes it won't start.

gonna take some getting used to, prolly no point.

thanks still

Ah yes, that was another reason I don't use it... ;)
