I dont know if this is really a 'tip', but i've kept each version of Live installed as its been released, so you can open them all at the same time and now with 6.0.5 i can essentially have 3 instances of Live open at once. Its really great for jumping around between sets. I don't know if this is handy for anyone but i find it an efficient way to work, rather than having to constantly reopen sets all the time.
who does this?

I think this is a new feature in Live. The Look/Feel preference has a multiple instances option so I don't think you actually have to have all those versions installed to do this.

on a mac you've just got to copy your ableton app folder and rename it something else like live 2
then lauch the second instance from that folder. no need to turn on allow multiple instances on a mac.
