Experimental, mid/down-tempo, minimal EP release. Thoughts?

Post by kaffein » Mon Mar 19, 2007 11:29 pm

I made my first solo EP back in december of 2006, and released it via my own label I started at the same time. Its called The Esc EP, and you can download the 128kbps versions in mp3/ogg format here: http://www.shuutobi.com/disco.php

Your thoughts would be highly appreciated.
The main tools used for creating this were:
Live 6, Sound Forge 8, CD Architect, various free pluggins, a Tascam HD-P2 field recorder, and a Shure VP-88 M/S mic.

p.s. I'm starting to work on new material for a full album, but I think I'm headed into more of an electro + real instruments direction...

p.s.s. My favorite tracks are Tripoli Eleven, and Echoes of Terra.

I also use Live 6, Sound Forge 8 and CD Architect 5, great combination !

Although I also Cubase SX3 and Reason 2.5 and some free VSTs and some paid, for example I'm not a big fan of WaveHammer compressor/limiter in Soundforge, but Voxengo's Elephant 2.5 is an amazing limiter for 60 bucks.

And I would take Voxengo Elephant or Kjaerhus MPL-1 Pro Mastering Limiter and PSP's Mastering Compressor over anything that Waves produce, this is my personal taste so don't flame me !

Nice tracks btw !

Yeap yap, its a great combo. I used ACID 6 for tracking guitars and such before I got ableton, I wish I had got Vegas 6 instead for video work. XD

Trying the PSP master comp out atm, didn't know they had that. Graci for the reply!
