Live is skipping?

Post by DannyT » Thu Mar 22, 2007 3:52 am

I have an issue that I can not seem to correct with Live.

I work for a rock band and we are using Live to run our samples and a click which the musicians listen to in their in ear moniters. I run firewire out of the laptop and into a Motu which then goes to my moniter desk and front of house desk. The problem I am having is that the click, which is ran down a channel seperate from the the samples, (so the crowd can hear it) sometimes skips, or will miss a few beats. Now you can see how this could through a muscian off, esp when they are using the click as a count in for the song. Has anyone experienced this? And what did you do to correct it?

I have tested the track with just the motu and just the laptop (not ran through any of the boards and no live band playing) and I can not get it to skip. Any insite would be greatly appreciatted.

What are you using for the click? And audio file? Simpler?

Do you send samples->left main out, click to right main out, or do you have your MOTU soundcard use multiple stereo outputs?

I can't imagine how external audio gear could mess with Live.
