Hello,
I just bought Ableton a couple of weeks ago, so I guess that entiltles me to the not so much money upgrade to Ableton 4 (though I wish I waited now before buying).
Anyway, my question really is that after installing the program, I downloaded the 3.04 update and installed it. What it did was create another version of Ableton. So now I have 2 versions of the program-version 3.0 and 3.04. Is this normal?? Shouldn't the 3.04 update written over the 3.0 update. Can someone please explain??
Should I delete 3.0 or leave it??
Sorry for the banal question. Great program by the way!!!!
Regards
Updating
nope
if you don't want the 3.0 around, uninstall it...
they keep the diff versions around so that if the newest becomes unstable for you, it is trivial to go back to your older version...

Austen Powers,
Live's updates are always new executables. Actually, I prefer this method as it makes it incredibly easy to roll-back if a particular update isn't playing nicely. As already stated, you can simply delete the earlier versions once you're confident that no new bugs exist that could stifle your enthusiasm.
FWIW, I always keep the most recent, proven, stable executable around just in case.
