You know what they say about imitation and flattery.

Anyway, the really insane racks are to be unleashed very soon.
As this quizz suggests.. Not a day too soon :)
ah, so then I guess you know what they say about big ego's and empty space too?
Which empty space would that be?

“It is the nature of the ego to take, and the nature of the spirit to share.”

You need a big shield if you're kicking ass anyway :D
Just got back, time for more fun ! 8O !

So then, how do you like your shield, ahh - empty space cooked anyway?

Please reply, and be sure to attach a smileeeeee?

What? No quotes? No metaphor?
Where's the fun in that?

Don't sweat it. "Its better to have tweaked and lost, then to have never tweaked at all!"

If you're trying to make a point about my personal life...
Don't bother. I'm an open book.

Born and raised in Belgium. Did about every job i could find.. Then I found Live.
For years, I've learned the app inside out. Learned (and shared) all the knowledge i could find.

The original intention was to give away free stuff, in order to inspire other people to give away stuff too.
We both know how that turned out.

So i got into the game professionally and followed the footsteps on the path I made.

Has it brought empty spaces? It sure has.
I live behind the computer.
Is it a sacrifice I'm willing to make? It sure is.
You have no clue what I've been working on for over a year.
The next move requires a big ego, a big shield and lots of empty space.

I'm on the top of my game Mike.
We had our rifts in the past and i thought we were cool by now. If not, lets fight it out like we used to and give Carl his thread back.

PS: 8)

Carl - please excuse me for just one post ( lucky number 500!!! ) No metaphors all fun, just one moral - i promise!! ( hoff you started the shit on carls post )

Im sure you have been cookin up some real goodies- and when you release it im gonna hound the shit out of you if you don't send me a copy.. But that aint the point...we can all create simple things - the point is you talk to much, you always have.

Just from this thread-
And keeping an eye on how many parts of my racks can be found in screenshots of future products of the other rack making dudes.

I guess one of the crews this is aimed at is TrackTeam. I mean how many other "rack makin dudes" are there right now?
my rebut s -
I dont believe I have ever used any of your elementary rack concepts in my creations, if I have, i apologize, but it is definately unintentional, unfortunately the tools right now are a bit simple, giving way to crossover.

This one aint aimed at me:
We don't release a pack every month, firstly because both Andreas and I are busy people. Secondly, we dont just make romplers.
- but the person i believed its aimed at has accomplished more in the fields of music, sound design, music tech education, and most of all Professionalism than you can ever dream of...
also, its funny though, you dont seem to busy - Besides your 6000+ posts what have you done? it seems like...like...nothing! The better 95% of the covert ops i have much respect for though. He's out there makin some great music, pushin apps and techs to there fullest...really inspirational dood.
anyway.. i promised you a moral, so here it is- the sword, not the shield nor the rack can protect you from your empty space. Its something youve gotta fill on your own. Think my friend...Log off for a second and think....

I wont rebute that. I'm still talking :)
My big mouth has opened as much doors as it has gotten me into trouble.
And I wouldn't want it any other way.
I'm free to have an opinion. And the best way to learn on a forum is to be corrected if you're wrong.
If you want to comment on 6000-7000 posts, I'll gladly direct you to some forums with people who have 10 times more posts in half of the time I've been online.

Nope wasn't aimed at you specific. And yeah, the tools are indeed limited.

There's the snag.
We all may have similar goals, but different methods of accomplishing it.
You do what You do, We do what We do. Everybody else does their thing.
We all make packs but have different approaches in making them.
Thats why we're not really in competition.
I respect everybody's efforts.
That doesn't mean I'm not allowed to differentiate what we do from what others do.
The Covert Operators have a reputation of tweaking the crap out of every Live device we can get our hands on.
In my book thats slightly different from sampling synths.
Not that i'm downplaying any of the efforts that are required for such a project.
But there lies my point..
Whatever we do and whatever people after us will do.. It all reflects the fact that nobody uses Live in the same way.
Even when it comes to making content for Live.
So the only competition between all of us is the fact that we're competitive people. Nothing more then that.
The only intention behind what i said there, was to point out one difference in approach.

Shows you what you know. I'm 22, so it'll be another 20-30 years before I'll even think of calling myself a professional.
It seems like I've done nothing... Well, what have i done really?
I'm still learning all the wonderful things about what the world of music has to offer. Thats a project that'll never be done.
In terms of published work.. Apart from a few articles and more freebies then I can remember, nothing much..

Does it matter? Only in the context of your point i guess.
You'll soon find out what I've been up to.
Not to mention the time I recently used to get a degree..
May not seem important to you, but its an accomplishment to me.

Why do I have 6000 posts?
Lets see... Do a search.. About 3000 of those posts cant be found because they're in beta sections that are not there anymore..
So 3000 beta posts versus 3000 of the other crap I post is a fair balance..
If anything, you should thank me for posting so much ;)
mike@TrackTeam Audio wrote: The better 95% of the covert ops i have much respect for though. He's out there makin some great music, pushin apps and techs to there fullest...really inspirational dood.
I couldn't agree more.
He's a far brighter chap then I am. And i'm glad he's on the cutting edge of technology.
It never hurts to have some inspirational friends.
mike@TrackTeam Audio wrote: anyway.. i promised you a moral, so here it is- the sword, not the shield nor the rack can protect you from your empty space. Its something youve gotta fill on your own. Think my friend...Log off for a second and think....
There's no moral there. I found a purpose and a goal that I want to accomplish.
Sacrifices are in order.
You don't know me, but you think you do it seems..

I'm young, not the brightest of them all and surely not the most experienced.
But I do know what I'm doing. And currently I'm about 80% down the path that I wanted to follow.

So anyway. Your point as far as I can tell is that I have a big mouth and a big ego. I wont argue with that.
I don't have to show you any accomplishments to feel like I accomplished something. And to me, thats the point.

As far as your moral about the sword goes... You'll have to do better then that.
I'm all armored up. I might miss the homeland and all it has to offer. But that doesn't matter when you're getting ready for battle.

Before you read anything into that... Its a battle with myself.

My apoligies if anybody was offended.
I know I can be a bit tactless in my comments. But thats just me being me.
At least when it comes to our previous encounters...
We had a little missunderstanding in 2005 which never really got cleared up.
I noticed that today and in your initial press release of modmachines where you bashed the CovOps.

Why was I upset because you wouldn't open up the livefill format. (which i mistook as the early equivalent of a Live pack, before i learned what a pain it is to make an installer)
Because I literally spent months making content for free, in order to inspire people to share their content.
I was naïve enough to believe that releasing a lot of stuff for free would encourage people to do the same.
So there is where our little rift got started.
I felt like you were destroying everything i worked so hard to build. Excuse me for getting a little upset about that.

I've learned my lesson when you attacked the Covops and then retracted it when you noticed we wouldn't take it laying down.
I learned that its pointless to fight about something not worth fighting about anyway. Its not like we're 2 evil corps fighting over a marketshare.
We're people who are motvated to fill a void that Ableton has left there too long.
If anything, we could have teamed up to cover some grounds left uncovered by Ableton. Without actually interfering with each other.
In this case I'm talking about a mutual online repository of the stuff we have shared for free over the years. Talk about a library going to waste.
We both have posted our fair share of .als files and what not..
I would have made a section on the CovOps site for all the old stuff.
But there are already like 5 rack sites out there.. Nothing happening on them.
Point and case, here's a new one. http://www.livetweak.com/

Damn, I talked to much.
Me and my big mouth!

No misunderstanding here...your thoughts were quite clear. You even posted a derogatory comment about TrackTeam under the alias "Operator B", then retracted it. Our cute little bout was definately resolved. This page starts a whole new chapter in our love story.- next time try direct contact instead of bad mouthing and sobbing on a public forum - it might be a bit easier to get your point across that way.
Hoffman wrote:I've learned my lesson when you attacked the Covops and then retracted it when you noticed we wouldn't take it laying down.
I Removed an ignorant statement that I published on my website- Then apologized because I realized it was unprofessional and could be seen as directed towards someone(s) it wasn't - thats it... And again, I apologize. The statement was not directed at the collective know as the Covert Operators, your shield, which you have previously hid behind. It was directed at you for the way you handled your sorrows which you so nicely paraphrased above.

So, moving on...Lets put this all behind, as it is basically two girls pulling at each others hair. We are both somewhat talented individuals and there is no reason to not share the love and knowledge. Please, in the future if you have a problem with any of my work, actions or ideas, contact me directly and dont bash my work or a friend of mine's work on a public forum...A little respect please... Im done...

I apologize to Carl and other forum members for putting up with this.. And carl, good luck with the Live Collections!!!

Give me a break, man. I launched my site two days ago.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of patches soon enough.
