Importing MIDI drums and matching them to impulse

Post by Testudo360 » Thu Mar 29, 2007 4:53 am

I have imported MIDI drums from a different program and dragged them into the program. Is there an easy way to make it so the drums will match up. I figure the MIDI should be the same format. Anyone have any tips to make this work?

Nope, this is a common complaint with Live, Impulse uses C3-D4 white keys only (it might be C2-D3, I don't recall right now.) There's a GM MIDI drum rack that comes with Live, that might help. Other than that rack, Impulse is not GM compatible, this comes up every once in a while. I guess the concensus is that GM is an ancient standard, a straight series of whole notes are simpler to deal with.
