audio hangs when triggering an audio clip as another plays

did a quick search but couldn't find this exact problem

basically I'll have one audio clip playing, then when I hit play on another, all audio cuts out for a fraction of a second before continuing as if nothing had happened

it's not all the time, just every so often, but a little embarrassing when playing out!

I just updated from 6.0.1 to 6.0.5 so I hope that solves the problem, but I'm not keeping my hopes up

I've got a 7 200 R. P. M. hard drive, dual 2 GHz processor & 1Gb of R. A. M, so I can't see why hardware would be a problem...

should I increase the buffer size or latency or something?

oh & I'm using a Presonus Firebox if that makes a difference
