OFF TOPIC Experiment

Post by djadonis206 » Sun Apr 01, 2007 6:13 pm

I'm going to try and leave the TV off for 24 hours

but I'm curious

what the hell do you do if you don't watch TV? aside from the obvious (play with ableton)

I mean, you're just sitting there, sitting

what do you guys do besides watch TV?

Paul Mooney said something in one of his comedy video's that really strucka nerve about TV - so I'm turning it off today at least

my wife and i unplugged our TV in 2000

(thats with cable still coming into the house with our internet service)

we don't miss it at all

..of course netflix keeps a steady stream of stuff for us to watch.. and after all these years i still enjoy video games...

its nice not to be bombarded with all the crap the tube throws out at you!

I gave my TV away 2004 or 2003, don't remember. I don't miss it, but I'm curious when I visit a friend and the TV is running and I like to zap around a bit. Most of the time the program is even worse than the last time, if that is possible... 8O

The time I gained is spent with reading a forum like this, but at least few people around here want to sell me ringtones :D

Nothing can be worse than Australian 'Free to Air TV', and if it is my heart bleeds for you ;)

Well I havn't even had internet for 2.5 years apart from staying at my SO's or at my last place of residence which had an internet cafe. I did have TV though for the last Two years, and a PC so without doubt the latter was my hub of entertainment...without connection to the interweb.. and to be honest apart from the learning factor I love not having the internet. If I was Math inclined I could write an equation of how much time is wasted on the web. :D :D

The saddest point of all is that TV 'shouldnt be to hard to get right' it's just the fuckwitt users who spoil it, They would rather watch 'the biggest loser or idol than something educational. But alas the Gen pub watch that tripe as educational.. as I do to an extent to rip the shit through the gen pub

Love yr all

since you're a regular viewer, try a week.
you wonder what the hell to do for a couple days,
then you get off your ass and go make things happen.

I only listen the tv to fall asleep or to make some background noise.

It's pretty rare that I sit in front more than 10 minuts without doing something more productive at the same time.

But I like listenning to it sometimes, there is krap for sure but there is tons of things you can learn by the tv.

It's a bit like internet :)

Yeah, other than watching Nova once in awhile, I usually just stay in the studio. Not much of a TV person, my wife however...

I watch maybe a half hour of tv per week. I'd much rather be doing music.

Not had a TV for years. Don't have much free time as it is so if I'm not at work I'm out with friends or writing music.

I haven't had cable TV in my place for over 2 years. No over air tv either, just DVDs
that I borrow if at all. TV is crap, why absorb crap. Crap in, crap out so watch out.

You're gonna go through withdrawals so keep it up and get past it. Your time will get
very valuable real soon and you'll know what to do.

Go for 24 days ... 8)

I never watch TV. However, I do watch selected TV series (House, The wire etc). Either by ...finding them... on the net or by buying the DVD. That way I get quality entertainment when I want it, but I never do any mindless channel surfing.
