Dragging clips from browser crashes Live 6.0.5 (if...)

Post by Zerobae » Mon Apr 02, 2007 1:27 pm

...if frozen tracks/clips are involved.

I tried to drag a midi track (belonging to another Live set) to a track in a new Live set -> this results in Live 6.0.5 quitting everytime. The reason for this I reckon is the respective midi track is frozen in the original Live set, so it displays as a midi track (with midi clips) in Live's browser when really it's a frozen track.

Anyway, although it would be cool to be able to rip midi clips from frozen tracks (it can be done in session/arrangement view, but not from the browser apparently), at least Live should display an error message and not just quit instantly ;-)

(iBook G4, 1.33 Ghz)

P.S.: sorry if this has been reported before, i didn't find anything upon a quick search...

Hi,

This is a wrong behoaviour and should not happen, you should be able to drag a frozen clip from the Browser to a new Live set.

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it here. Is the track using a specific plugin or does it happen with any plugin? What machine are you using?

Regards,

The frozen track had a ValveTone plug-in on it, however I unfroze it, deleted the plug-in, froze it again and tried to drag the frozen track to a new Live set—still crashing.

Now the track contains only an instrument rack with 2 Operators and one instance of the Chorus effect.

Edit: I'm on an iBook G4, 1.33 GHz, 1 GB RAM, OS 10.4.8
