Master Volume Drops

Wondering if anyone is having this problem. Every now and again, when I switch on an effect, the master volume drops all the way. I am running 6.0.5 on a 12" Powerbook (867 with 1gig ram) with an Ozonic....it has worked flawlessly for over a year now. Any suggestions?
