XP latency from tracks to master...

Post by napalmskatterjazz » Tue Apr 03, 2007 9:49 pm

This is wierd.... so When I open a new set there is no latency and i can play my instruments in realtime and hear it and the sound goes from the track to the master instantly. Now in another set that is rather large, when i open it and press play the sound on the tracks start instantly but it takes like a full second to reach the master. This happens on three different audiocards the same.
I have tried to delete ableton prefrences in appdata and I have tried deleting the set configuration file..

Please help, this really sucks right now...

PS, this never happened before but I just did a clean install recently and it has happened since then.

Please... this is really wierd. I HAVE TO HAVE THIS TRACK DONE BY FRIDAY!.. I even tried to open a new set and import the samples to a new project but the latency shows up as soon as I save a new project.

No latency issue on a new set.. as soon as it saves there is a full second between the time it plays on the track and the metronome until it hits the master track and goes to interface.

Latency in middle... from track to master, not master to out...

I have messed with plugin buffer size, delay compensation, everything I can think of and nothing works. I even tried uninstalling live and reinstalling it..

Hi,

Is that set an older set, created in an earlier version of Live? Is 'Delay Compensation' ON in the Options menu? What kind of plugins are used in the set?

set created in live 6.0.5, delay compensation doesn't affect this problem, tried with both on and off, although I generally keep it on. As far as plugins used there are a few NI, BBE sonicmax and psp vintagewarmer and waves trackplug and voxengos on pretty much every track. Very plugin heavy on paticular track it started on....

But, if i create a new set with no plugins at all just audio files imported from browser, it plays fine UNTIL I SAVE as soon as I save set the latency issue shows up.

I have a few ideas concerning conflicting drivers so Im gonna work on this after class today, as for getting any work done... forget that at the moment.

Hi,

This soulds really weird, and I'm quite sure that one of the plugins is causing the behaviour. Let me know if you have any clue.
