Library Search Problem

Post by Akumalong » Fri Feb 23, 2007 4:27 pm

Hi,

I was using my Live 6.03 without a problem until i format the hard-drive. After the format i've installed Live. Now I can see the samples or the clips (even the samples i added) in the library and i can use them. I've got no problem with that. But when i try to use the search option for the library or any other section Live don't do it. It gives an error says: "An in dex cannot be created: unable to open database file"

Is there anyone has an opinion?

P.S.: I searched the forum database but i couldn't find any topics related to this subject. So if i missed it and open a new topic for a subject disscusded earlier sorry for that.

Hi,

I think i've havent found out the exact soulution, But in my case: I routed my documents to a folder which is located d:\ (second hardisk) Just beacause to make easy to format harddisk. Now i i'm using Windows's default folder for "my documents" which is located in c:\ (which contains windows as natural). So finaly the "search" option and other library options working fine. SO i think this about a problem not caused by us, it's a bug maybe.

Hi,

Do you mean that as long as the Library was on the second hard drive, with the correct path set in Live Prefeences, the search didn't work? And after moving the Library to its default location, search was working again?

Hİ,

I don't know if it works if you move the library back to its default location, but at the installing section you should install the library in its default location (and this is the DEFAULT location of my documents which Windows determines--> c:\documents and settings\... blah blah.)

Thanks a lot, Lars. I had the same problem and logging in as administrator solved it for me to.

My next thought was, this could be true not because of the administrator rights but because the word "administrator" doesn't contain an "umlaut", just as my name does. Now I don't log in as "Jörg" anymore but as "Joerg" and it works.
