CPU maxed in Live lesson 1, verse 2

Post by 2neurontin » Mon Apr 09, 2007 12:10 pm

I tried freezing some tracks that looked like they might be causing the peaking but nothing is helping.

MacBook Pro
2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB RAM

thanks

Well, it depends on what version of 5 you are using. LIVE 5.2 was the first LIVE that was Universal Binary, which is what you need to run on the new IntelMacs. Otherwise, LIVE is running under Rosetta, and is therefore being translated on the fly with the concomitant huge decrease in performance.

Time to upgrade if you want the full performance of that machine, especially because LIVE 6 incorporates multi-core processing.
