Controlling VSTs in live with UC-33

Post by broken_specs » Wed Apr 11, 2007 8:51 pm

Ok, slight live/vst newbie question here...

I have a UC-33 that i would like to use to control the various settings on vst synths in real time. I'm new to the world of midi CC messages, etc and I can't find an obvious way to go about this..!

Is it just that many free vst synths don't allow midi control over their parameters? I know I can use the midi learn function to easily assign controls in Live, but is this not possible with third party software?

Ideally, I would like to be able to record midi notes into the sequencer, then adjust parameters as I play the recorded part over and over - like I would do with my electribe..

Is there a way? :(

yeah, its possible and easy, simply press control & m or apple and m, the screen will turn blue and go into midi map mode, simply select the parameter you want to control and move the desired controller on the uc33, to find your assignable parameteres on the tird party plug go to the channel theyre on and press the triangle button next to the wee spanner to open the box up...

prob doesnt make sense because im hopless at explaining things over forums
