crash problemes with phantom power / mic on

Post by olivia » Wed Apr 11, 2007 2:13 pm

Machine Name: Mac OS 10.4.2
Machine Model: i book G4
Processor Name: digidesign core audio manager
Hardware: Mbox
Processor Speed: 1.33 GHz Power PC G4
Memory: 1.5 Go DDR SDRAM
LIVE version 5.0

I use a mic Rhodes that requires Phantom Power on , quite a few ableton plug ins, 9 audio clips
so far I can't finish my set without crashing
I've pushed buffer size digidesign coreaudio manager to 1024, will do another test in a minute
any other ideas to help ?[/size]

Olivia,

Try freezing the tracks that you're not altering. Freeze all of the tracks with the plug-ins. That will free up more CPU power and maybe prevent the crashing.

Does this problem not occur when the microphone is not in use?

you should first get the last 5.x version
try to rename your VST folder, see if it still happens

i don't know how it works on a mac, but i'd say that you must have one.
when you click on the 3nd icon of the browsers (the one with a little plug), do you have some devices appearing?

O-

Pedro is right. The computer doctor probably won't think of this:

Get freshened up with the latest release of Live 5.
