how different is winMe from win98/95?

hey everybody,
I'm having probs w/Live crashing and BAD latency. I figure the latency might be able to be tweaked, but the crashing? I'm using WindowsMe, is it very different from the other windows?

Hi,

Of Course, there are differences between Me and 95/98 (probably a lot more I know), but this should no reason for Live to crash.

So if you have crashs, please be sure that you use the latest version of Live (which is 1.5.2) and give me more details about the crash.

- What is your hardware (computer, memory, audio & midi interfaces,..)
- When is it crashing?
-What type of crash? Just Live or the complete computer so that you have to reboot.
- You should also send me the log file of Live "called "Live_log.txt" in ableton preferences folder).

i had tried to install live on my winME desktop, but couldn't even get it to launch . . . i'd consistently get the same error message, though i can't remember what it said at the moment. i just figured that since ME wasn't listed as one of the supported OS's, it wasn't *supposed* to work . . .and, since i was going to upgrade that box to XP anyway, and had live running well on my laptop, i uninstalled and didn't really worry about it.

i just checked my file sys, and it seems that the log file is still intact; if you'd be interested in checking it out, Alex, i'd be happy to send it along with my system specs, though at first glance there doesn't seem to be anything indicating a crash.

if live is indeed supposed to run on ME, i'll go ahead and reinstall too, as i still haven't popped for the XP upgrade (bought pHATmatik pro instead!
