My CPU is showing 100% activity as soon as I turn live on (in the process manager window), on my compaq 1720 US laptop..... wonder why....

have you tried a virus scan lately... picked up ad-aware to search for spy crap... defragged your drive... tried a scandisk... optimized your system through
www.blackviper.com or
www.musicxp.net???
UPDATE
hmmm... just going to musicxp and it appears to have changed, like you need to log in now... that or I've got the wrong site (which wouldn't surprise me much)

Could this be a P4 denormal issue with an old VST plug-in? Some older VST plugs would cause a P4 to go into high resolution mode and essentially crash the system.
