MIDI problems in oSX 10.4.9 - triggerfinger

Post by sunrarara » Fri Mar 30, 2007 4:10 pm

Hello

I have recently updated to an Intel MACBOOK running osx 10.4.9. Firstly, ableton is running brillaintly and I love the new machine, but since updating, none of my midi gear works, specifically my trigger finger.

Ableton won't even recognise it let alone let me assign anything.

Have been to the m-audio site and there are no new drivers...the triggerfinger still works on my g3 so something is definetly up

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Neil

my axiom 49 doesn't work too since i updated to 10.4.9. The midi dump file of Live could be damaged.

Weird, I've had no issue at all since upgrading to 10.4.9.

Hi,

This is a well known incompatibility between the macbook's usb bus and the usb chipset inside some TF although m-audio won't admit they have a problem. They don't seem to spreak the same language.

The easiest way to resolve this?? Connect your TF to your macbook through a powered hub like belkin's.

this sounds horribly familiar.. i just had problems updating my virus on the right hand usb port on my macbookpro.. maybe it is also a mac problem?

Hi, I had this exact same problem with my macbook intel, an as Airwave says it's not related to 10.4.9 update but its a chipset compatibility issue. I mean you will be able to see the USB TF listed as usb controller on your mac info but it will be not recognized as a midi device by any software.
I tried the solution Airwave gave, I bought a belkin powered usb hub and it worked fantastically, it was amazing to see it work after I got so many lies from the guys I bought it from and m-audio. BTW, Airwave you are a genius, I love you.
