To maximize resouces I've created a new custom HardwareProfile and a new UserID on my laptop. The intention was to run LIVE in a exceptionaly sparce environment for max ram, min interupts, etc.
The problem is when I start LIVE using the new UserID it's asks for a library location and then ask for my license key ? ReActiviting in this mode would not be very convinent since everything network related isn't loaded.
I'd like LIVE to work with the new UserID as it does on the old ? Possible ?
Thanks, Dez...
Can I move LIVE to new UserID ?

It would really help if you were mentioning on what system you are working: Windows or Mac OSX?

Woops, I guess that's pretty narrow sighted of me
OS = Windoz XP Prof (Tablet Edition)
I'm quite technical but very weak in user management. Over the last few days I've been trying to assimilate a working knowledge of it so that I can improve the management of my computer. One side goal here is to stop running my computer as Administrator all the time.
As of last night I started to wonder If it would be easier to leave LIVE where it is but change the account to "Limited" & redo all my process disabling on this old account ? Then create a new Admin account which would be rarely used and another general use "limited" account.
I'm still a bit confused though, not sure yet if I'm viewing the possibilities correctly ?

Hi,
In that case, copy the Ableton/Live x.xx folder that you will find under:
C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\
From the account you unlocked Live with, to the new account, in the same loaction.
For the Library, you should move it to a place that is accessible to all users on the computer, so it can be accessed by all users, for example, in the 'all users' account. Then, you'll have to set the path of the Library in Live. On the first time installing Live for a user, Live may create a Library in My Documents for that user. Simply set the right path to your shared Library after that, and delete the one it just created.

Amaury
