Jungle mashing from SUMONE, really sick. Again this is not me its sumone check his myspace for more!

Probably a stupid question but how is the mashing staying in time with the other samples?

Boh! I like the vocal samples and use of delay in there. good'un.

I must admit though, I think I've heard enough amen-chops now :-| Don't you ever feel a bit saturated / fed up with that break?

...then on the other hand, it's a good yard-stick for chops, isn't it :)

you don't, you use ableton to control large amounts of clips, some of which are "stuttered" prefab.
still a great video though, his interaction between launching clips and applying/ cutting effects, is tight , and although not a revolution in idea, is applied here by a very talented person, using it like an instrument, kinda the point of ableton imo...
great stuff.

The clip is nice, cuts are tight, great stuff.

That technique is pretty fun to use, this is mostly why I love ableton that much.

Take a drumloop, copy it a couples of time, build breaks, rolls and ect

assign clip launch to midi or computer keyboard keys and get instant gratification.

Using a large quantize value help keeping the things tight, you can also use follow action to make your break end going straight to trig the original loop.

next step is to use scene lauch and dummy clip, a couple of sends and after a couple of months you will be the next aaron funk.

The track I host on my virb account these days is done using the exact same method+the excellent lucifer plugin on 2 bus ( 1 containing sends return the other not) controlled via 2 midi controllers.
