A tragic event caused by a fatally insane spirit of emulation, partly generated by the media themselves.
Very sad.
And quite creepy, too.

seriously, how can anyone argue against gun control??

2nd amendment (or whatever one it was) or not you simply cannot argue that shit like this wouldnt happen alot less if you didnt let any dickhead get hold of a gun

it's just insane

for everyone who thinks you can have one because they're fine with it, how many dickhead cletus the slack jawed fuckwads out there also has to have the right cause you do?

fuck man even in south London in one of the worst parts in the UK (in fact in europe) known for its gun crime - I had to step round the yellow "witness appeal" signs for shootings, stabbings and abductions just to get to work, and even there were nowhere near the amount of shootings they get in the US cause at least there they have to get guns black market so it's at least a little bit harder

this shit's just gonna keep on happening

The reason the media reports on this kind of stuff and not starvation is because it's a new story. If they always reported about starving children in third world countries, people would not watch - The news would be the same every day, and it would not be "News". Then they'd lose money and there would be no more media.

And you guys saying how horrible our country is run, most of us know already. Most of us didn't vote for the monkey who is currently sitting in the oval office. Also, our country is only 230 years old. Some of you have a few thousand years of experience to look back on - Cut us a break!

You want to know why 31 students getting shot in Virginia is bigger news in the US than a million starving overseas?

Here's why.

well, this is a little fountain of info

I'd have thought that by the year 2007 there would be a better sense of "humanity" and less finger pointing. Obviously Im wrong.

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe it's just a shitty deal that the VT thing happened? Did everyone bump their heads on the way to computer to post? Can't anyone ever forget about themselves for a moment and understand how shitty this really is?

well, here's just what I'm talking about. Mr. Moore doesn't provide any useful information in that "movie".......for example.......

The "compton" thing. WTF? You stand on a corner in the daylight after DRIVING to that site and then bitch at a cop ( and er, that's an LA cop.....) about smog? What an idiot........smog? LA has had the smog thing since before TV, why would a cop need to stop chasing a drug dealer to fight smog? How did you get there.....You're surrounded by your crew and you are not being approched by the "usual suspects".........what a joke!

Or the "right to work/Dick Clark" part. Like the caveman on Geico's commercials....."yeah, I want to respond to that.........er..........what?"
I mean what has he got to do with "right to work".......cause he owns a fucking restaurant? That's just about a retarded as it gets.

He's just part of the media.......twisting and proding his way to fame.....at the expense of those who will listen.......

the saddest thing about this whole Virginia shooting incident is that due to the police & staff at the college not taking prompt action, you know that there's a team of lawyers lining up to sue the ass off all concerned.

'my son's been killed - hey fuck it, let's sue for $10,000,000.00 that'll make everthing ok'

well, that's true, or at least so it seems. Of course, the lawyers will get everything!......Ok, I'm a cynical fuck....

I guess I just think it's tragic that something like this happens and others make light of it, like it's not that "bad"..........

This is a pretty horrible occurence. I don't see a connection to the situation in Iraq. I think it's a pretty dumb reference. I'm posting in this thread because the forum is my haunt and there is no need to start a new one. Mostly I am curious what the folks here think. I feel that the comparison is pretty useless though. Exercising judgement. Hmmm. That's a noteworthy goal.

I blame Charlton Heston.

The NRA website says "anyone that thinks banning semi-automatic weapons would prevent gun crime should see what has happened in England". 8O

What is that supposed to mean? That banning guns has resulted in a handful of teenager accessing guns and using them to shoot one another?

It reminds me of what Bill Hicks said:

"Like, I was over in England. You ever been to England, anyone, been to England? No one has handguns in England, not even the cops. True or false? True. Now in England last year, they had fourteen deaths from handguns. Fourteen. Now the United States, and I think you know how we feel about handguns, woooo I'm getting a warm tingly feeling just saying the fucking word, to be honest with you. I swear to you, I am hard. Twenty-three thousand deaths from handguns. Now let's go through those numbers again, because they're a little baffling at first glance. England, where no one has guns, fourteen deaths. United States, and I think you know how we feel about guns woooo I'm getting a stiffy - twenty-three thousand deaths from handguns.

"But there's no connection, and you'd be a fool and a Communist to make one. There's no connection between having a gun and shooting someone with it, and not having a gun and not shooting someone. There have been studies made and there is no connection at all there."

that WOULD be one thing I'd agree with Mr Moore on.......CH and the gun situation. In this country, it's an attitude......and one I personally think STINKS!

The idea someone.....er, anyone would need a semi (oh my gawd, let alone REAL automatics) is a wack-job........there is NO NEED!

Ok, I'm starting to get really pissed......and that is NEVER good......

Let me try and phrase it this way........how wrong can a possibly be in thinking SAFETY for ANY person should be the NUMBER ONE PRIORITY ......ALWAYS!!!!!!!!?
