error 1728 - can't delete
Everytime i want to delete a file from within a Live browser i get an error message 1728. I am on mac - so wtf? tried to search here on forum but found nothing (
Hi,
All I found while googling it, is:
"error -1728 errAENoSuchObject: e.g.: specifier asked for the 3rd but there are only 2. Basically this indicates a run-time resolution error."
Doen't say much. Can you try to CTRL click the file, and choose 'show in Explorer' (or is it Finder on the Mac?)
Can you access the file?
Regards,
Amaury

Hello, Amaury
I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.8.
this occurs to any of the file types. It can be an audio or a preset file (instrument/effect).
Moreover, even when i try to save changes to the tweaked preset and replace the existing one, i receive this message and then i have no choice but to save it under another name.
It's really annoying

Okay, I have an element of answer: Do you use File Vault? It is found under the system Preferences, in the Security section.
It is a file encryption system, and it seems that the method used by Live to delete file does not allow to use it.
For now, if you use it and need it for sensible information, you could create a new user account with fileVault OFF, just for music.

Hi,Tim Moore wrote:Amaury,
i do appreciate your attention to my problem, but the File Vault is switched off and then it cannot be the reason i guess.
I find it a bit odd - cause no one else posted here with the same problem. really don't think that i am alone with it
Don't you use any other file encryption system?
