Live 5 created tracks + Live 6 tracks and returns = WTF ?

this is really frustrating me today.

i have a session, mostly built in Live 5. i recently upgraded to 6.
my session works great. BUT when i add a new track the volume faders scale differently (when midi mapped) and my new live 6 returns wont send to my live 5 created tracks or returns.

for instance mapping 0-127 MIDI cc to a track made in the previous live 5 version scales differnt than a new live 6 version track . the new track (the live 6 version track) pushed the cc 127 (max) way over 0db, where as in live 5 i could scale this properly to be set to 0db.
any thoughts ?

when using a new live 6 return track, my sends to other previously created live 5 return tracks does not work. i'm doing some compl;ex processing where returns go to other return tracks. and i cant get my new live 6 returns to send to my old live 5 created returns.

soooper annoying.
do i need to rebuild this whole beast with all new live 6 tracks and returns, or am i hopefully missing something very very obvious ?

right-click on the send-box in the return-track and activate the sends in the menu.
