Envelope latency
Envelope latency
When I come to mix, I use a lot of plugins and have to put the latency setting upto its maximum setting. THis means that there's an inherent delay of almost 1 second between where the timeline is and what im hearing. Furthermore and more troubling is that when I use automation curves these can be drawn over the wave file they have to be offset by almost a second too - for example if i wanted to mute a snare I'd have to draw a velocity curve a sacond later than where i see it in the clip. I have plugin dealy compansation to on already - am I missing something.
Seems pretty basic to offset all the eveloped by the latency setting?

I'm not using latency compensation here.
Did you experience the envelope delay or it's theorical ?
And if latency compensation is working that way, be sure i'll never use it.
It makes no sense to delay all your shit a bit. The software is supposed to be able to handle this.

Im using autotune, several waves plugins and audio units. I hear everything OK - so there's I htink the plugin delay comp is working. ITs just the envelopes are late. If I use automation with very few or no plugins its fine. I think its linked the the audio buffer setting. I have to stick it on maximum so that my mac plays all the tracks and plugins without dropouts. Consequently there's a dealy before I hit play as the audio buffers in. I can live with that but when I draw an automation envelope the envelope is off as much as the buffer...
Hold up, wait a minute!!
Your computer is THAT bad and you're blaming Live? What are your computer specs? Throw more RAM at it and try again.
Freeze your tracks or bounce to audio, it's acting up by running it that hard, lots of FX and probably low RAM (500Mb?). Live is your bitch, treat it right and it make sexytime with your ears, treat it wrong and it make shit on your face.
