Live 6 vs Toshiba Satelite 100 307

Post by R10 » Fri Apr 13, 2007 7:45 pm

Hi!
I need some help because I use Live 6 with my laptop (Toshiba Satelite 100 307 core 2 duo + 2g RAM, m audio firewire sound card...).
The problem is, when i play a live set, there is small cracking...
it's very problematic when i play in a party...

What is the problem? (not the latency)

Thanx for your help!!! :?

Hi,

Is this a Toshiba A-100? I heard more than once about problems with the A-100. Typically, each time the fan turns ON, there is a CPU spike, leading in some drop-outs in the audio.

Is it a new computer? Do you have any chance to return it? I know Toshiba UK aknowledged that there was an issue with this model, I don't know about france.

---

Bonjour,

Cordialement,
Amaury

Hello,

i have also a A100 Toshiba and experienced a lot problems with crackings. The solution is to put your processors in MPS mode instead of ACPI mode. In that way the fan is never switching off, and you still benefit form the multi core processor. I am really satisfied now with the labtop.

Really you should try this, also get rid off Windows Media Center and take Windows XP.

I have also a M-audio firewire card 410 type. I am confident you will succeed.

Greetings,

Resident.
